A little about me…
Hello and welcome,
My name is Sabira. I am a mother of three wonderful children, two boys and one girl.
All of my pregnancies, births and feeding journeys were different from each other and each having their own challenges
( never forgetting the wins! 🙌)
Motherhood has taught me that no pregnancy, birth or baby are the same and all families have varying needs. This ignited a passion in me to support expectant parents in gaining the confidence and knowledge on all things pregnancy, birth and baby. Every family I support contributes to my growth, knowledge and ability to provide tailored services that prioritise a safe space, knowledge to make informed choices and confidence in physiological birth.
I'm also an Infant Feeding Specialist for the NHS at a leading London hospital and have worked with families from varied backgrounds and cultures. As part of my role in the NHS, I focus on how parents can have a close and loving relationship with their baby. I engage in meaningful antenatal conversations with expectant mothers to explore their preferences, concerns and/or aspirations regarding feeding their baby (or babies!)
Following childbirth, I provide postnatal support, often encountering mothers who are affected by their birthing experiences—feeling depleted, overwhelmed, and sometimes traumatised. I found I began assisting these mothers to process their birth experiences. I believe that emotional well-being and feeling safe profoundly impacts feeding and bonding. This motivated me to pursue training as a Birth and Postnatal Doula and Hypnobirthing Instructor. Driven by the desire to make a positive impact for birthing people, one birth at a time!
My in-depth understanding of physiological birth processes, labour stages and the biomechanics of birth enable me to offer useful and practical tips to you and/or birth partner to maintain a calm birthing environment.
I would be honoured to be a part of your unique and special journey into Parenthood. If this is your second, third or even fourth baby. I will be honoured just the same!
